Real Lawn Versus Synthetic Turf

Bella Turf Cascade Elite, Artificial Lawn

When considering what type of lawn to have installed in your outdoor space, synthetic turf is becoming more and more popular in the lower mainland for several reasons. As the chafer beetle continues to be a problem in many lawns throughout greater Vancouver, more and more people are considering the cost benefit of synthetic lawn versus real lawn. Lets look at some of the pros and cons when thinking about synthetic versus real lawn installation.

Pros: Synthetic turf requires no mowing, trimming, watering, fertilizing or pesticides. It reduces your water bill and looks great year-round regardless of sunlight or shade on the area. There are very natural-looking types available, such as Bella Turfs Cascade Elite, as per the photo above, or Bella Turfs Park Royal, making it almost impossible to tell fake grass from real grass unless it's closely inspected. Cons: Faux grass is expensive and takes skill to properly install. The least-expensive types can look cheap and unnatural, so it pays to have the highest quality installed by a company that has been certified in installation.

Real Lawn

The debate between synthetic lawn and real lawn continues. And as one customer said, "There is nothing like the smell of fresh cut grass and the feeling of real lawn under your feet."

Regardless of what type of lawn you decide on for your space, a well kept lawn will create a wonderful usable space for you and your family.
